GE’s high-purity quartz microfiber filters are used in many air sampling filter applications, including sampling of acidic gases, stacks, flues, and aerosols. Filters are suitable for PM-10 sampling and analysis.

Temperature resistant up to 800°C
Binder-free

GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business offers three types of quartz fiber filters.

Whatman quartz microfiber filters
Because of the low level of alkaline earth metals, "artifact" products of sulfates and nitrates (from SO₂ and NO₂) are virtually eliminated. High-purity quartz microfiber filters are therefore applicable for particulate monitoring and heavy metal analysis.

Whatman QM-A filter circles and sheets
QM-A quartz microfiber filters from GE come in a wide range of circle diameters, as well as 25-piece sheets. QM-A sheets (1851-8866) are sequentially numbered according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards and are suitable for most applications.

GE’s Whatman Grade GF/A glass microfiber filters feature fine retention. GF/A filters are suitable for water quality parameter measurement and air filtration applications.

Suitable for a wide range of liquid and air filtration applications
Nominal particle retention of 1.6 µm

GE’s Whatman brand Grade GF/B is a thick filter with fine particle filter and good loading capacity. GF/B filters are particularly useful for liquid clarification and liquid scintillation counting.

GF/B fine particle filter benefits
Liquid scintillation counting requires a fine particle filter, preferably with a high loading capacity.
Specification

Parameter :Grade GF/B Filter for Liquid Scintillation, 460 x 570 mm sheet (5 pcs)
Application :Used in LSC techniques where high loading capacity is required.

Whatman Nuclepore Polycarbonate Membranes ‒ Black

GE’s Nuclepore black membrane filters are polycarbonate track-etched (PCTE) membranes with high particle visibility for standard plate count and epifluorescence microscopy applications.

Smooth, gridded PCTE membrane surface efficiently supports microorganism enumeration in a standard plate count
Irgalan black membranes for reduced background fluorescence in support of epifluorescence microscopy
Extremely low nonspecific absorption

Explore the full range of Whatman Nuclepore polycarbonate membrane filters from GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business for hydrophilic, hydrophobic, black, and gold-coated membranes

Black membranes for rapid standard plate count results
GE’s Nuclepore membrane filters are compatible with the direct epifluorescent microscopy filter technique (DEFT), which allows microorganisms to be counted directly on a filter. DEFT can be conducted in under half an hour, sidestepping the standard > 24 hour process of incubating a microbial sample.

GE’s irgalan black membranes greatly reduce background fluorescence, improving visibility and helping to distinguish microorganisms from other particulates.

Whatman Cyclopore PC Polycarbonate Membrane Filter

GE’s Whatman Cyclopore polycarbonate membranes are true pore size microporous membranes featuring the sharp cut-off and reproducible microfiltration characteristics of track-etched membranes.

Low affinity for stains improves visibility under a microscope
Low nonspecific protein binding minimizes sample loss of proteinaceous samples
Narrow micropore size distribution and high pore density support rapid surface capture of analyte
Negligible absorption and adsorption of filtrate; nonhygroscopic
No particle shedding enables clean filtrate
Biologically inert

Whatman Cyclopore track-etched membrane filter circles are suitable for a wide variety of applications, from general filtration, including cross-flow filtration (tangential flow filtration), to air and water monitoring, microorganism analysis, and many healthcare applications, including immunodiagnostics.

GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business offers a variety of Whatman track-etched membranes. Cyclopore comes in clear and black colors.
