Whatman QM-A Quartz Microfiber Filters

GE’s high-purity quartz microfiber filters are used in many air sampling filter applications, including sampling of acidic gases, stacks, flues, and aerosols. Filters are suitable for PM-10 sampling and analysis.

Temperature resistant up to 800°C
Binder-free

GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business offers three types of quartz fiber filters.

Whatman quartz microfiber filters
Because of the low level of alkaline earth metals, "artifact" products of sulfates and nitrates (from SOโ‚‚ and NOโ‚‚) are virtually eliminated. High-purity quartz microfiber filters are therefore applicable for particulate monitoring and heavy metal analysis.

Whatman QM-A filter circles and sheets
QM-A quartz microfiber filters from GE come in a wide range of circle diameters, as well as 25-piece sheets. QM-A sheets (1851-8866) are sequentially numbered according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards and are suitable for most applications.

Looking for a filter paper, membrane filter, or syringe filter? Let GE help you find the optimal filter for your needs to ensure reliable analysis.

Whatman QM-B Quartz Microfiber Filters

High-purity Whatman QM-B quartz fiber filters from GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business are designed for use in specific air monitoring applications.

QM-B filters are similar to GE’s standard QM-A quartz fiber filters, which are recommended more commonly for air testing applications. By comparison, QM-B is approximately twice as heavy, twice as thick, and offers slower flow rates.

Because of these characteristics, QM-B can be used in air monitoring applications requiring increased strength or durability.

The Whatman range of high-purity quartz filter options also includes Grade QM-A and Grade QM-H filters, which can withstand temperatures up to 800°C and 900°C, respectively. Each filter grade has unique strengths for air monitoring applications.
