GE’s Whatman Grade 542 filters are acid hardened to allow high retention of fine precipitates in applications such as metal determinations and hydroxide collection.
High wet-strength
Acid-hardened for resistance to strong acid and alkali solutions
Nominal particle retention rating of 2.7 µm
Herzberg filtration speed of 2510 s
Extremely low ash content (0.006% ash maximum)
Slow flow rate filters for gravimetric determination
Hardened Grade 542 quantitative papers enable high retention of fine particles in chemically harsh conditions. When acting as a gravimetric filter, this cellulose filter paper is therefore well suited for use in capturing fine precipitates in applications such as metal determinations and hydroxide collection.

Whatman Multigrade 150 Glass Fiber Filter
GE’s Whatman GMF 150 prefilters are multilayer graded density filters for rapid and efficient filtration of samples with high solids content.
Compared to an unprotected membrane, greater sample volume can be filtered
Higher particulate loading capacity and faster flow rates than uniform prefilters
Excellent particle retention (both large and small particles)
100% borosilicate glass, binder-free
Extends life of final filter membrane
Multilayer filter design
When a sample is applied, the multigrade glass filter traps larger particles in its pores or on the surface of the coarse layer, medium-sized particles in the interface meshing, and smaller particles in the interstices of the fine layer.
Specification
Parameter :Glass Microfiber Prefilter, 1 µm particle retention rating, 90 mm circles (20 pcs)

Whatman Nuclepore Polycarbonate Membranes ‒ Black
GE’s Nuclepore black membrane filters are polycarbonate track-etched (PCTE) membranes with high particle visibility for standard plate count and epifluorescence microscopy applications.
Smooth, gridded PCTE membrane surface efficiently supports microorganism enumeration in a standard plate count
Irgalan black membranes for reduced background fluorescence in support of epifluorescence microscopy
Extremely low nonspecific absorption
Explore the full range of Whatman Nuclepore polycarbonate membrane filters from GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business for hydrophilic, hydrophobic, black, and gold-coated membranes
Black membranes for rapid standard plate count results
GE’s Nuclepore membrane filters are compatible with the direct epifluorescent microscopy filter technique (DEFT), which allows microorganisms to be counted directly on a filter. DEFT can be conducted in under half an hour, sidestepping the standard > 24 hour process of incubating a microbial sample.
GE’s irgalan black membranes greatly reduce background fluorescence, improving visibility and helping to distinguish microorganisms from other particulates.
